The MSCA Presidency Conference 2026 will be on the theme of Resilient Research Careers and will focus on how the MSCA and European institutions can reinforce Europe’s capacity to attract, retain, and empower researchers by supporting stable, sustainable, and globally connected research careers.  

 

The conference also coincides with the 30th anniversary of the MSCA and will celebrate 30 years of success highlighting alumni stories examining the past, present, and future of the MSCA. 

The conference will bring together researchers from all career stages, policymakers, university leaders, government officials and industry representatives and prompt discussions on the future of MSCA around how researchers can be better supported of changing labour markets, geopolitical uncertainty, and Europe’s constantly evolving research and innovation ecosystem. 

Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union coincides with critical discussions and planning on the next European Research Framework Programme (FP10) and the conference will provide a valuable opportunity to consider how Europe can further support the development of resilient research careers.

Registration

Registration is a three step process.

1. Create a Presidency Registration Account

If you have not previously registered for another event held as part of Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, you will first need to create a Presidency registration account. 

2. Register Your Interest for the MSCA Presidency Conference

Once your account has been created, you can submit your expression of interest to attend. Please note that submitting a registration of interest does not constitute confirmation of attendance

3. Attendance Confirmation

All registrations will be reviewed in accordance with the event registration process, and successful applicants will receive confirmation and further information by email. 

We strongly advise against booking any travel or accommodation until your registration is confirmed.

Location

  • Conference Venue

    TU Dublin is Ireland’s first Technological University and Dublin’s second-largest university, with 28,000 students across five campuses. TU Dublin is a national leader in STEM, engineering, creative arts, and business education, combining academic excellence with real-world application through a practice-based, employer-engaged model of learning. 

    The main conference venue is the Concert Hall in TU Dublin’s East Quad. The space is custom designed for musical performances with a sweeping stage and tiered seating style offer a prime venue to host concerts, conferences or other large gatherings.  

     

    Located close to the city centre there are a variety of hotels within a short distance to the venue. We have identified a number of them below at a variety of price points. 

    TU Dublin is located centrally and is easily accessible by car and by public transport.  

    Luas 

    The tram system in Dublin, Luas, operates two tram lines: the green line and the red line. Both lines connect to the city centre and both lines stop a short distance from the conference venue. The closest stops are Smithfield on the red line and Grangegorman or Broadstone on the Green line. Tickets can be purchased at every stop and reduced fare Visitor Leap Cards can be purchased for visitor at selected outlets. Visitors top up these cards with a set amount which is then deducted for each journey. Please see leapcard.ie for more information 

    Bus 

    Dublin Bus operates a variety of services that will drop you close to the conference location. The closest stops would be located on Phisboro Rd or Constitution Hill, depending on which route or direction your are travelling. 

    Bus drivers are also usually very helpful and if you ask them for the correct stop for TU Dublin, will stop at the location for you. 

    Taxi 

    Taxis are readily available in Dublin, with expected levels of increased demands at rush hour periods. Taxis can be hailed at designated taxi ranks or with many taxi apps such as FreeNow or Uber.

Conference Report

The primary output from the conference will be a conference report. As part of the conference proceedings, a group of rapporteurs led by a central rapporteur will be listening and capturing the various opinions and recommendations made by conference attendees and speakers and distilling them down into discrete, actionable policy recommendations for the various stakeholders relevant to the discussion topics.
