Project Summary

The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) University of Medicine and Health Sciences is opening a groundbreaking new gallery in the heart of Dublin. Launching in Autumn 2025, the RCSI Health Gallery (name to be announced later in 2025) will be Ireland’s first public gallery dedicated to health and wellbeing.

Located at street level in the entrance foyer of RCSI’s new €95 million flagship education and research building at 118 St Stephen’s Green, the gallery will be a high-profile public space that invites the public to join conversations about living longer, healthier and happier lives.

To mark the launch, we are developing a flagship public event programme, with a bold new take on the late-night gallery format. These evening gatherings will blend performance, food, conversation and immersive experiences to explore health in surprising and culturally relevant ways, from the science of sleep to the intricacies of the human brain. Designed for adult audiences (18+), each evening will offer a rich, reflective experience, where science meets storytelling and wellness meets wonder.

With Discover funding, we will prototype and evaluate this event series, building a sustainable model that can grow through support from RCSI’s partner community beyond 2026 and embedding STEM as a fixture of Dublin’s cultural scene.
