Project Summary
STEMP.Inc aims to ensure every person, irrespective of gender, class or condition, gets equal access to STEM education and employment opportunities. We use an Industry-Education system thinking approach; partnering with Industry, schools and universities from across Ireland to achieve our vision.
In 2025-2026, we will support 5,350 students to become STEM prepared, they will participate in 3 core interventions:
1. We will support students to achieve a university accredited qualification entitled ‘21st century STEM skills’. Students who participate in secondary schools can apply for upto 60 Leaving Cert points waiver for entrance to STEM courses in universities with this qualification
2. We will support students to meet mentors from Industry, learning about careers, gaining confidence in their capabilities
3. 1000 TY students will get work experience with Industry partners
In 2025-2027 the STEM Passport will work with our 4 university partners, and 600 mentors from across our 190 companies, to continue to deliver education and mentoring opportunities to 5350 diverse learners; we will develop and deliver a new and exciting work experience opportunity for 1000 Transition Year students. We will also provide follow up education opportunities to the students who have participated STEMP.Inc in previous years, delivering AI workshops to 5th year students and engineering focused workshop to 6th year students.
In 2025-2027 we will support 5,350 students to complete their STEM Passport; expanding our reach to other underserved groups, including students in students in youthreach, Leaving Certificate Applied (LCA) and single mothers from Women’s Collective Ireland.
