ARC Hub Programme
ARC Hubs: A new model for Accelerating Research Commercialisation
The ARC Hub Programme, developed and led by Research Ireland, represents one of the most transformative research initiatives to accelerate research to commercialisation. Built around a scalable model of entrepreneurism, the programme is designed to commercialise research. By deeply integrating researchers, industry partners, investors, and experienced mentors, the ARC Hubs create an ecosystem where innovation is supported at every stage, accelerating ideas toward real‑world deployment.

The programme is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union under two European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Regional Programmes – the Southern, Eastern and Midland Regional Programme 2021-2027 and the Northern and Western Regional Programme 2021-2027.
Launched in 2025, the ARC Hubs form a network of three interconnected flagship Hubs, each focused on a strategically important domain., with the aim of:
- Driving regional development by accelerating novel, cutting-edge research, towards commercial impact readiness, in areas aligned with Ireland’s Smart Specialisation Strategy for Innovation 2022-2027 (S3) and respective regional strategic priorities.
- Developing a cohort of entrepreneurial scientists and engineers with the skills to realise commercial opportunities from research activities.
- Enhancing and accelerate the translation of research to impact through the commercialisation process.
- Successfully transition Research Ireland-funded research projects into existing national and international closer-to-market supports.
