Research Ireland Eligible Research Bodies Policy

The Research Ireland Board have approved an interim Eligible Research Bodies Policy for the agency, guided by the Research & Innovation Act 2024, which provides for the establishment and functions of Research Ireland.

You can check to see if your organisation is included on the current list of Research Ireland ERBs at the following links:

If you are not on these lists, you can apply to make your organisation eligible.

There are two policies which govern eligibility, both of which are described in the policy at the link below. The first concerns core eligibility and applies to most Research Ireland funding programmes. The second concerns strategic eligibility and only applies to certain Research Ireland programmes, for example, Research Ireland’s Discover Programme.
