Maternity, Paternity, and Adoptive Leave Policy
Research Ireland is committed to minimising and mitigating any existing or perceived factors that may limit the participation of individuals in the research endeavour. In particular, Research Ireland is committed to supporting the retention of individuals in Research and Innovation and to encourage individuals back into research careers following maternity, paternity, or adoptive leave.
As such, Research Ireland invites its grant holders to apply for a supplemental discretionary allowance to support their Research Ireland funded grant when either a Principal Investigator (PI) or a team member funded on a Research Ireland grant – including postgraduate students – takes a period of maternity, paternity, or adoptive leave.
Please review the Research Ireland Maternity, Paternity, and Adoptive Leave Policy before completing the request for a Research Ireland Maternity/Paternity/Adoptive Allowance Request Form, so that you fully understand your entitlements.
Applications should be submitted to Research Ireland no later than two months before the start of the maternity, paternity, or adoptive leave period.
